Finished, now in App Store review
Revertly 2.0
Revertly 2.0 is finished and with Apple for review. The whole app is built again: Guided Prayer, a path of lanterns, Learn by heart, the Book of Firsts and a new Wudu Guide. If you already use Revertly, 2.0 comes as a normal update and keeps all your progress. I cannot promise a date, because that depends on Apple. Follow along and I will write to you when it is out.

What is in 2.0
- Guided Prayer
- Pray along with a figure that moves into each position: standing, bowing, prostration and sitting. You hear real recitation, and the Arabic words light up as they are recited. Go slower or faster. Show the Arabic, the transliteration or the translation, and make the text as large as you need.
- A path of lanterns
- Your path runs from your first prayer to your first Ramadan. Each step lights a lantern, so you always know what comes next. There is no deadline.
- Learn by heart
- Three ways to memorize a surah: listen and repeat, fading words, and recall. Each surah tells you when to see it again, so Al-Fatiha and the short surahs stay with you.
- The Book of Firsts
- Your first wudu. Al-Fatiha by heart. Your first prayer, your first Fajr, your first Jumu'ah. Each one is written in your own book, with its date. Only you can see your book. If you want to, you can share a first as a card.
- Light, not points
- Your five prayers are stars in tonight's sky, and each one lights up when you pray it. No streaks to lose and no scores. Mark each prayer with a tap: prayed, made up later, or excused on days of menstruation or postnatal bleeding. You see your month, quietly.
- Wudu Guide
- An animated figure shows every step as you count, and it can count for you.
- Prayer alarm
- On iOS 26, the prayers you choose ring like an alarm, full screen, even on silent, with a takbir. Good for Fajr.
- Check yourself
- Walk through a whole prayer and see what you already know. The Order Quiz goes over the steps of wudu and the positions of the prayer.
- All four schools
- Prayer times for where you are, in Hanafi, Shafi'i, Maliki and Hanbali. A qibla compass and a home screen widget too.
- Private by design
- No ads. No account. Nothing collected. Your progress stays on your iPhone and syncs through your own iCloud.

Build log
Now: testing 2.0 on my own phone, every screen, then App Store review. The aim is to be live well before Ramadan.
Every word is reviewed in all 11 languages, with a native pass on Chinese. Updating from 1.4 keeps all your progress.
Learn by heart, the Wudu Guide, the Order Quiz and Check yourself are rebuilt too. No scores anywhere, only light.
Guided Prayer is rebuilt around a moving figure. It shows each position while the recitation plays, and you can set your own pace, text and sound. No more robot voice.
Tonight, Journey and the Book of Firsts are done. Your path is a trail of lanterns that opens where you are, and every first gets its own page with its date.
The new Today screen works. Your five prayers are stars in a night sky, and each one lights up when you pray it. You can mark a prayer as prayed, made up later, or excused. There is no streak to lose.
Revertly 1.4 is live in the App Store: Guided Prayer with AirPods, a direct line to me inside the app, and free codes for anyone who cannot pay. Now back to 2.0.
The design for 2.0 is done: four directions, one plan and 43 screens. Building starts today, with the new tabs and Tonight first.
