Privacy Policy

Overview

Revertly ("we", "our", or "the app") is an iOS application designed to help new Muslims learn the fundamentals of Islamic prayer and practice. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Data We Collect

Revertly collects minimal data, primarily stored locally on your device:

• Location data — Used to calculate accurate prayer times for your area. Your coordinates are processed on-device using the Adhan library. When you grant location access, Apple's reverse geocoding service is used once to determine your city name, which involves sending your coordinates to Apple.
• Onboarding preferences — During setup, we ask for your selected school of jurisprudence (madhab) and gender (used to show relevant prayer posture guidance). These are stored locally on your device.
• Prayer check-in data — Your daily prayer completion records, streaks, and Ramadan tracking data are stored locally on your device using UserDefaults. This data never leaves your device.
• Learning progress — Lesson completion, app settings, and privacy mode preferences are stored locally on your device using UserDefaults.
• Widget data — If you use the Revertly widget, prayer times, your city name, and lesson progress are shared with the widget extension via an on-device App Group. This data never leaves your device.
• Purchase information — If you subscribe to Revertly Premium, your purchase is processed by Apple through the App Store. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status. We do not have access to your payment details.

No Accounts Required

Revertly does not require you to create an account. There is no sign-up, no email collection, and no password. All your data stays on your device.

Third-Party Services

• RevenueCat — Manages in-app subscription status. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID and purchase receipt from Apple. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
• Apple Location Services — Used for reverse geocoding (converting your coordinates to a city name) and for manual city search via MapKit. These requests are sent to Apple. See Apple's Privacy Policy.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties. The only data transmitted from your device is anonymous purchase verification (via RevenueCat) and location data sent to Apple for reverse geocoding.

Data Storage & Security

All personal data (preferences, progress, location) is stored locally on your device. We do not operate servers that store user data. Deleting the app removes all locally stored data.

Children's Privacy

Revertly is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app does not require account creation or personal information input.

Your Rights

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over it. You can reset your progress and preferences from the Settings tab, or delete the app entirely to remove all data.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
