Sahur ends at Fajr. On the first day of fasting, Monday 8 February 2027, that is 06:57 in Badajoz, and on the last day it is 06:22. Fajr comes a little earlier each day, so check the table for the date you need.

When is iftar in Badajoz?

Iftar is at Maghrib, when the sun has set. On the first day it is 18:58 and on the last day 19:29. These times put Maghrib a minute after sunset, and the Moroccan calendar 5 minutes after it, as a margin.

How long is the fast in Badajoz?

The fast in Badajoz lasts from 12 h 1 min on the first day to 13 h 7 min on the last day, and it grows by about 2 minutes each day. Over the whole month that comes to about 364 hours.

Why are the times a little different from my mosque?

Mosques and apps use different angles for Fajr and Isha. These times use 18° for Fajr and 17° for Isha. In Madrid, the Moroccan calendar (19°) puts the end of sahur 5 minutes earlier, 15° puts it 16 minutes later, and some calendars add an imsak 10 minutes before Fajr as a margin. If your mosque publishes its times, on a notice board or on Mawaqit, follow them.

Does a shower break the fast?

No. Showering, bathing and swimming do not break the fast, as long as you do not swallow water. Take care when you rinse your mouth and nose. Brushing your teeth is fine too, without swallowing. The checker answers more than 50 everyday questions like these, with where the four schools differ. Does this break my fast?

What is zakat al-fitr, and is it the same as zakat?

Zakat al-fitr is a small gift of food, or its value, that every Muslim who can afford it gives for each person in the household before the Eid prayer, so people in need can celebrate too. Mosques and Muslim bodies in Spain announce the amount each year: the value of about 2.5 to 3 kilos of a staple food such as rice or flour. It is different from zakat, the yearly 2.5% on savings above the nisab. Zakat calculator
