What it is and when you say it
Al-Kafirun, "Those who reject faith", is surah 109. It draws a clear line in worship: you worship Allah alone, and you leave others to their own religion.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) often recited it in the sunnah before Fajr, with Al-Ikhlas in the second rakat.

How to learn it by heart
- Read the whole text once with its meaning, so you know what you are saying.
- Learn one line at a time. Say it out loud until it flows, then add the next line.
- Hide the words little by little: first letters, then nothing. Tap a line when you need a look.
- Use it in your prayers right away. Repeating it five times a day is what makes it stay.
Common questions
Why do some verses repeat?
Verses 3 and 5 have the same words. Scholars explain that the repetition rules out the past and the future: it was never so, and it never will be.
How do I keep the similar verses apart?
Notice the pattern: verse 2 "la a'budu", verse 4 "wa la ana 'abidun", and verses 3 and 5 are identical. Learn them as pairs.
