What it is and when you say it
Quraysh is surah 106, named after the tribe of the Prophet (peace be upon him). It reminds them of the safe trade journeys they made each winter and summer, and calls them to worship the Lord of the Kaaba who fed them and kept them safe.
Four verses. It follows Al-Fil, and many learn the two together.

How to learn it by heart
- Read the whole text once with its meaning, so you know what you are saying.
- Learn one line at a time. Say it out loud until it flows, then add the next line.
- Hide the words little by little: first letters, then nothing. Tap a line when you need a look.
- Use it in your prayers right away. Repeating it five times a day is what makes it stay.
Common questions
What are the winter and summer journeys?
The trade caravans of Makkah: to Yemen in winter and to Syria in summer. Because people honoured the Kaaba, the caravans of Quraysh travelled safely.
Is it hard to pronounce?
The first two verses repeat the word "eelaf". Once you have that word, the surah comes quickly.
